About Troop 1533

BSA Troop 1533 was chartered by the Mantua Parent Teacher Association (PTA) in September of 1967.

Troop 1533 follows the principles of a boy-run troop and operates by the patrol method. The Patrol Leader's Council (PLC), with support and insight from the troop's Scoutmaster and Assistant Scoutmasters, plans and executes all of the troop's activities, including troop meetings, camping trips, and the annual summer camp trip to Bayport Scout Reservation. In Troop 1533, we believe in an environment where scouts can learn and have fun at the same time.

Troop 1533 meets every Tuesday at 7:30 for an hour. The troop usually meets in the Mantua Elementary School Cafeteria, but if the Cafeteria is unavailable for that day, we usually meet in either the Upper Pod in the School or the Mantua Clubhouse at the Mantua Swim and Tennis Club. The troop does not meet on days when school is closed, such as on holidays, vacations, teacher workdays, or snow days.

Troop 1533 is a vibrant troop in Northern Virginia and we maintain a detailed website to provide information to our scouts and parents. The majority of our content is password protected and only available to "members" of our website.
